Description

There is nothing better having a guest house that is detached from the existing house. There are many advantages to building a separate dwelling instead of an attached one; these include lowered costs, less complication in infrastructure work and providing private-living quarters when hosting guests.

However, it is not always possible to build a detached structure according to a city’s zoning requirements.

In this case, the size and shape of the property allowed for a separate dwelling unit.

We designed a large-sized bedroom and full bathroom inside the guest house.  French doors faced the pool area and looked to beautiful mountain views.  The façade and the architecture matched the existing house, a feature we always prioritize.

We also prepared electrical power and lighting plans for the city submittal.
